Gulf Pine Catholic • January 5, 2024 15 The Music and Fine Arts Ministry of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral, under the direction of Terry Maddox, presented Christmas & Carols Concert on Sunday afternoon, December 17th. The 30-person combined community choirs of Gloria in Excelsis and Mobile Vocal Arts performed an eclectic mix of sacred and secular music highlighting both new and traditional arrangements, with the audience invited to join in the singing of several Christmas carols and popular seasonal favorites. Those attending were visibly moved by the choir’s renditions of Mary Did You Know? and Pieta’ and treated to a delightful surprise by Cathedral Rector Fr. Godfrey Andoh’s Congo drum accompaniment to the spiritual selection Rise Up Shepard and Follow . Dr. Sasha Ferreira provided violin accompaniment. For the third year, we encountered the Good Shepherd in a special way. Fr. Sergio wants to thank the team members for their time and dedication to present this event.
