Volunteers can provide caregiver relief, companion- ship for patients, run errands, play music, prepare a meal and offer whatever tal- ents our volunteers would like to share. Helping our staff with special events and activities is another way that you can assist. Hospice volunteers do not need any medical experience as they do not handle patients. We will begin the Devotion with the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament at 9:30 a.m. Then we will pray the scriptural Rosary at 10 a.m. There will also be the hearing of confes- sions, meditation on the mysteries of the Rosary as requested by Our Lady of Fatima, and Holy Mass at 11 a.m., fol- lowed by a procession carrying a statue of Our Lady & a banner to honor Mary from the church to Murray Hall where we will then have a potluck lunch and refreshments. From novice to expert, all will enjoy this faith-filled, educational, encourag- ing and inspiring time at Our Lady of the VOLUNTEERS PARISH EVENTS ► SEARCH Retreat 2024, Jan. 5-7 & Feb. 2-4, 2024 ~ SEARCH Weekend 1, Jan. 5-7, 2024 ; SEARCH Weekend 2, Feb. 2-4, 2024 . A Search Weekend is a Christian life experience. It is peer guided and peer given by a Diocesan youth and adult team. On a SEARCH weekend there is sharing by the community members, songs, prayer, small group discussions, Adoration, Eucharist, Reconciliation, quiet time and a great fellowship between you and your “new” friends. The weekend usually begin on Fri. evenings around 7:30 p.m. & ends Sun. afternoon 4 p.m. The SEARCH weekend will be held at Sacred Heart Retreat Center in Dedeaux. Fee for the weekend is $100. This fee includes sleeping quar- ters, meals, and all the materials for the weekend. A non-refundable $50 deposit is required with all applications. Don’t YOUTH MINISTRY Gulf, and there will be opportunities for confession and prayer! There will be a special session for choir directors on Fri. morning from 10 a.m.-noon. The work- shop is 3-9 p.m.. On Sat., the workshop is 9 a.m.-6 p.m. which includes 5 p.m. Vigil Mass. The registration fee ($75 for adults/$35 for students) covers all work- shop materials as well as dinner on Fri., lunch on Sat., and coffee and snacks both days. The SEARCH weekend is designed for high school teens (grades 11-12). Applications will be accepted according to grade levels with SENIORS having first priority. We will accept up to 45 participants for each weekend, and up to three to four people from each parish. ► March for Life, Jan. 17-21, 2024 ~ March for Life is Jan. 17-21. Jan. 17 through Jan. 21. The cost for the trip is $450. It is a premiere national gathering of all denominations to protest the R oe vs Wade decision. This event draws over 100,000 people from all over the United States. Young people & adults will travel & attend Rallies & presentations on an array of topics including social justice, servant leadership, racism & cultural diversity. We attend the Life is Very Good rally hosted by the Archdiocese of Arlington. They will have the opportunity to tour museums such as the Holocaust, Air & Space, & the Smithsonian to men- tion a few. They will have the opportu- nity to see the new Martin Luther King Monument & stand at the Lincoln Memorial.
