Western States and Canada Club Good food and good entertainment at a good price! Who wouldn’t want that? We are hoping many of the Leisure World residents will attend our first dinner party of the season. We are doing Italian onTuesday, Nov. 27. Our featured entertainer is Frank Cimorelli. Frank’s Tribute to Frank Sinatra has been celebrated throughout the Valley. Cimorelli is a member of the Screen Actors Guild and an accomplished actor and singer with several film and television credits. He has starred in many musical stage productions, including “Guys and Dolls,” “Singing in the Rain” and “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown.” At $25, Cimorelli’s tribute to Old Blue eyes is a must-see show! Look for our group at the Activity Fair on Nov. 5. You can also pick up tickets and get a program of our other events. Mark your calendar and we will see you soon! Wisconsin Club Submitted by Lynn Peters The Leisure World Wisconsin Club will gather on Wednesday, Dec. 5, for the first of three planned events of the year. We will be meeting in the Rendezvous Café at Rec. 2 at 4:30 p.m. to socialize. Dinner is served at 5:30 p.m. and includes garden salad, chicken parmesan with ziti pasta, garlic bread and cannoli for dessert. If someone needs an alternate meal selection, please let us know at least one week in advance prior to the event. The cost is $13 per person. Come and meet some of your Wisconsin neighbors, make new friends and renew friendships. Everyone is welcome! Reservations are needed by Wednesday, Nov. 28. The reservations need to include names, manor numbers, phone numbers and current e-mails and payment. This way, we can keep our Wisconsin Club list current. Reservations can be dropped off at Manor 988. There is a mail slot in the door to the garage off the patio. If someone has an idea for a game or activity, please let one of the officers know. Please wear your name tags! For questions, call President Dave Wunsch at 480-671-5699, Secretary/Treasurer Marlene Johnson at 602-619-0051 or Vice President Lynn Peters at 262-853-4870. Let’s have a great turnout and have some fun this year! Woodworking Club Submitted by Judy Jackson The woodshop activity level is picking up with our returning winter members. As a result, we are scheduling many new classes to help our members get the most from our facility. Beginning woodworkers were offered a clinic to acquaint them with our equipment. This was a good opportunity for existing members to refresh their knowledge of older machinery and learn how to properly use new items. Monitors are also going to be taking refresher classes and getting updated training on new equipment and policies. Woodcarving classes are on Thursdays and are taught by Bob Sharkey and Dean Troutman, both accomplished carvers. Other classes will be offered throughout the winter. Check for sign-up sheets or speak to the monitor if you have something you would like to learn. We will try to match you with a mentor or start a class! Nov. 17 is the Arts and Crafts Fair and we need volunteers and donated crafts to sell. It’s always a great place to do your Christmas shopping. Dues are now due for the coming year. Put your cash or check in the envelopes provided and place in the box by the monitor’s desk. It will be the best $20 you spend! Remember, work safely and follow safety rules and operating procedures. Zoomers Polish up those shoes, mark your calendars and get ready for a fun-filled season. All events are open to all Leisure World residents and guests. All events EXCEPT New Year’s Eve are $25 per person, which includes, dinner, dancing and surprises. Tickets are available at the RE/MAX Classic office. For more information, call Babs at 480-225-4308.
