Moonlight Serenade Dinner Dance Club Submitted by Clarice and Joe Chism Harvest Moon will not only shine in the November sky, but check the Hopi Ballroom on Saturday, Nov. 17 for one you can touch! The first dance of the new season begins with doors opening at 5 p.m. and a delectable meal served at 6:30 p.m. by Premier Catering. Artist Kathy Litzenberger and assistant Dana Howard prepared decorations for a lovely evening to be enjoyed by members and guests. Card and Game Clubs Beginning Mahjong Submitted by Donna Thompson Since Rec. 3 will be closed for remodeling and golf activities, our first Mahjong meeting will be on Monday, Nov. 19. Also, since golf will be using Rec. 3 for their activities, we will not meet Dec. 3, 10, 31; Jan. 14, 21; Feb. 11, 18; March 4 and April 1. Sorry for the inconvenience. Billiard Club Submitted by Steve Hanson We extend a warm welcome back to all our pool- playing snowbirds. Our league season begins soon. Join us for more fun and games throughout the year in a remodeled, beautiful Billiard Room! Men and women are invited to join us in practice sessions, tournaments and try out for our traveling leagues. Membership is $15 for the year and the dues pay maintenance and equipment in the pool room. Membership is not required for open play, but if you are using the equipment, we encourage you to join our club. Tournament play continues throughout the year: • Tuesday 9-ball at 12:30 p.m. (arrive early to sign up), $3 buy-in, open to members only. Thursday night 1 - 15 tournament at 6:30 p.m. • Saturday 8-ball tournament at 12:30 p.m., $1 buy-in. All entry fees are paid to the winners. Both men and women are welcome to play in our weekly tournaments. Our men’s leagues play on Wednesday mornings and Friday mornings starting in November. The Wednesday league play starts Nov. 14. For information, contact Dennis Vogts. The women’s league is Thursday afternoon with play starting Nov. 29. The team needs more subs for fill-in duties.
