The Foundation has partnered with the community on several major renovation projects over the past 20 years. We need to continue this partnership so that Leisure World remains a wonderful place in which to live. After five years of an Annual Campaign, the Endowment Fund stands at almost $119,000. Up to 5% of the earnings from this fund may be spent annually to further the work of the Foundation. Three families have become Lifetime supporters by contributing $10,000 or more. Our first Lifetime Donor was past-president, Chuck Krueger and his wife Ellen. Their gift “kicked-off” the first campaign. In 2016, Amy Johannesen became a Lifetime Donor; she is continuing her very generous support with an annual gift. This year, Guy and Arlene Ott are joining our Lifetime supporters by increasing their annual contribution to reach this milestone. Asked why they are annual donors, Guy and Arlene said “Living in Leisure World and the East Valley for the past 15 years has given us so much enjoyment that we feel the Friends’ Endowment Fund is the perfect way to continue our outreach to this community so future generations will benefit as well. In essence, it’s a great way to ‘pay it forward.’” The Friends’ Endowment Fund has many committed donors — those people who have given every year since the beginning! Five year donors are: Peggy Dittberner, Kay Eakin, Shirley Liesch, Don and Beverly Locke, Ralph and Karen McCurdy, Philip and Luanne Pendorf, Bob Sternecker, Gene and Carol Wegner, Charles and Ruth Anne White, and Bill and Norma Winslow, along with the Otts. A very special “thank you” for your faithfulness, To the right is a list of current residents who have contributed to the Friends’ Endowment Fund over the past five years.
