Together, you might be lucky enough to find that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow! Share the Luck of the Irish On St. Patrick’s Day, celebrate your Irish pride — regardless of whether you are Irish! Grab your favorite lads and lassies and spread goodwill to all. Here are a few ways to share the luck of the Irish! Have an Irish Feast: Cook up with some traditional meals like corned beef and cabbage, Irish stew with lamb, carrots and potatoes, or shepherd’s pie with ground lamb and vegetables. Don’t forget the soda bread on the side! You can easily find the recipes online at sites like www. delish.com or www.allrecipes.com . Invite friends and family to join you for the feast and make it a potluck. After dinner, relax and unwind with a Guinness Irish beer or an Irish coffee – adding a splash of Irish whiskey or Irish cream to your brew. Share Tales: The beautiful Irish land is full of many legends, most surrounding the idea of luck and treasure. Gather family and share some tales. The most popular one about St. Patrick’s Day is about the little mischiefs known as the leprechauns that many swear are real. There are even plenty of “leprechaun hunting tours” around the country. But real or mystical, they are known to be wild and untamable with red hair and green suits. Legend has it that if you find one and stare it down, the leprechaun will be trapped, and you can take the treasures hidden in his cauldron. But be swift, if you look away for a second, he will disappear. Pass out Lucky Shamrocks: Besides leprechauns, the shamrock is one of the biggest images seen during St. Patrick’s Day. The rare four-leaf clover or shamrock is considered a Celtic charm representing faith, hope, love and luck. People also believe they ward off evil spirits and bad luck. Find shamrocks at local discount stores or make shamrocks with a crafting supply of your choice. Then give them out to friends, neighbors or anyone you pass by to wish them luck for the Irish holiday. Host a Green Party: It’s like a regular party with one requirement: guests must wear green. During St. Patrick’s Day green is iconic because it represents Ireland’s lush green landscape, referred to as the Emerald Isle. Take the theme as far as you want: add green decorations to your tables, make desserts with green food coloring, put out a tray of only green vegetables. Let your imagination run wild! St. Patrick’s Day is all about joy. However, you choose to celebrate, share the spirit of the Irish with family and friends. May the luck of the Irish be with you! KEEP YOUR TEETH FOR YOUR LIFETIME.
