Music and Dance Clubs Casual-Aires Dinner Dance Club Submitted by Allen Cziok On Saturday, March 26, we will be having our final Casual-Aires dinner dance for the season. We are pleased to feature “Whisky Rose.” This will be more of a country music theme, so wear your western duds to help you get in the spirit! In their own words, “We rock out with the best of them, and also perform country like nobody’s business!” Your evening will begin with BYO cocktails at 5:30 p.m. in the Hopi/Pima Ballroom followed at 6:00 p.m. dinner, prepared and served by Premier Catering. You will have a choice of beef tenderloin or salmon. This evening, we will be distributing your invitations to rejoin Casual-Aires for next season. Please give some thought to volunteering for our membership, reservations, decorating, music or food committees. We need your talents to keep Casual-Aires as the most fun and successful dance club in Leisure World! Not a member? Leisure World Big Band Submitted by John Andrews After a rather late start, the Leisure World Big Band came out swinging! We appreciated the great crowds at our dances and rehearsals. We enjoy seeing the fine dancers. Our last rehearsal this season is on Tuesday, March 22. We are scheduled to resume our rehearsals on October 11 and continue through March 21, 2023. Our dances are set for Sunday, December 4 and Sunday, February 19, 2023. If our Good Lord wills it, we look forward to playing for you again next fall! See you all then! Leisure World Cloggers Submitted by Joyce Loland Come clog with us! This percussive style of dancing is good for the body and the mind! If you want to learn to clog, come to a class on Friday at 12:00 p.m., when Fran Dusek teaches True Beginners. To participate, call her by Thursday at 602-684-9353. Beginner classes are free! Other Friday classes offered are: • Beginners Plus: 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. • Intermediate 1: 1:30. to 2:30 p.m. • Intermediate 2: 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. The cost is $5. You can attend as many sessions that day as you wish. More experienced cloggers may attend Intro to Advanced Clogging taught by Cathy Martin and Dan Rowan on Wednesdays from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. The emphasis is on classic flatfooting and buck dancing styles. Moonlight Serenade Dinner Dance Club Submitted by Clarice and Joe Chism “Take Me to Paris” will fill the hearts of members and guests in Hopi Ballroom on March 5. An evening of new, exciting dance music will be provided by Sonoran Swing Orchestra. Everyone is invited to join in the fun, fellowship and fabulous dinners served by Premier Catering. BYOB with setups will be provided. Wear your lovely evening clothes for the last dance of this season! Dues for the 2022-2023 season are $280 per couple and $85 per guest couple. Since membership is a focus of the club, we appreciate payment to help defray costs and overhead for the upcoming season. Gratitude is extended to everyone for a successful 2021-2022 season.
