10 SOUTHERN SENIOR MAGAZINE | Spring 2024 Pine Hill Festival Set for the Last Weekend in April in Wiggins Wiggins, Miss— The Stone County Eco- nomic Development Partnership (SCEDP) will soon welcome thousands of visitors to at- tend the 2024 Pine Hill Festival in Wiggins, Mississippi on Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27. Opening Ceremonies will kick off the festival Friday at 5:00 p.m. followed by a full day of activities Saturday beginning at 9 am until 6 pm. Pine Hill Festival will feature more than a hundred vendors selling food, arts and crafts in Downtown Wiggins, along with regional performers playing at Blaylock Park. Limited edition festival posters signed by artist Leslie Gonce will be available for $10 each, along with the 2024 Pine Hill Festival t-shirt for $20 each (while they last). The newly crowned Stone County Miss Hospitality Katie Grace Padgett and Little Miss Hospitality Presley Kay Stephens will be on hand to meet festi- val goers, as well. The Red Creek Classics Car Club will host an open car and truck show on Saturday in the large parking lot at Second Street and College (the old Fred’s parking area). The car show will conclude with an awards cere- mony at 3 pm, including prizes for Best in Show. The festival will feature games and enter- tainment for the kids, including a petting zoo, jumpers and rides. The Stone County SPCA’s Annual Mutt Strut will take place Sat- urday at 2 p.m. at the corner of Third and Pine behind the big stage. This is the largest fundraising event of the year for the local an- imal shelter.
