CREW Denver delighted its members yet again with a successful wine tasting and fundraiser event. Hosted by Blanchard Family Wine located in the Dairy Block of downtown Denver, the event raised $2,265 for the CREW Network Foundation through donations, a silent auction and a wine pull. Founded in 1989, CREW Denver is the local chapter of CREW Network, a global organization with chapters in over 75 major markets. With a stated goal to “transform the commercial real estate industry by advancing women globally,” the CREW Network Foundation has been raising funds for college scholarships, industry research and career outreach since 1998. In addition to the fundraising activity, the 2019 Wine Tasting and Fundraiser recognized the winners of the CREW Step UP Award, which is given to chapter members who have gone above and beyond to advance the chapter’s mission. Laura Spitzmiller of 8020 Builders was named the 2018 Step UP Award winner. Additional Step UP Community Awards were granted to Blake Ottersberg, Tiffany Frederikson, Cathy Jorgensen and Celeste Smith, all of McWhinney Real Estate Services, and Kate Davis of Kate Davis Brand Consulting (formerly of Sage Hospitality). Katie Fox, owner of Foxfire Law, was one of 76 attendees at the event. “What a treat to celebrate a great cause and explore the Dairy Block at the same time,” said Fox. “The event is such a great way to reconnect with industry colleagues. The camaraderie of CREW members is remarkable.” A special thanks to Blanchard Family Wine, which donated 5 percent of its wine bottle sales from the event to the CREW Network Foundation. Additional thanks to the silent auction contributors: Wines for Humanity, Fox Meadow Floral, Kendra Scott Jewelry, Ritz Carlton and the Grand Hyatt Hotel. CREW Network is the premier business networking organization for women in the commercial real estate field. With over 11,000 members worldwide, CREW is the only organization dedicating its resources solely toward programs that introduce and advance women in the commercial real estate field.
