Fernando Pires, EDAC, Lean GBFD joined H+L Architecture in its health care practice area. A graduate of FAAP University in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Pires has 19 years’ experience in a broad range of health care projects across the United States and Brazil. She has been the lead health care planner for many projects, including facility master plans, replacement hospitals, hospital additions and renovations as well as freestanding medical office buildings.Jack Tubbs joined EnCon Cos. as director of preconstruction. Tubbs brings more than 27 years of engineering and construction experience to the EnCon team. In his role as director of preconstruction, Tubbs’ responsibilities include developing and managing new business development opportunities for EnCon Construction, EnCon Renew, EnCon Utah and Stresscon Corp. Additionally, Tubbs is responsible for business process initiatives and improvement, preconception design assistance and value engineering, sales, new market development and product development. His previous experience includes commercial and industrial building construction, building design, energy studies and preconstruction services in big, negotiated and design-build projects. Tubbs is a licensed engineer in the states of Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan and Wyoming. He also is certified by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying and licensed as an International Code Council National Standard General Building Contractor (A).Wember Inc. recently added two new project managers, Catherine Robbins and Tom Farrens. Robbins joined the firm after working at several Denver area firms, serving as part of the design team, being responsible for construction documents, field verifications, project schedules and budgets and permitting. She will work with the team on the Douglas County Detention Center and Fleet Services projects. Farrens joined the team after having a successful career practicing architecture in Wyoming and Idaho for the past 13 years. He will work on various existing and new Wyoming-based projects.RJM Construction hired Harry Knight as a senior project manager. In his new role, Knight will oversee all aspects of contract administration, including composing bid packages and directing the bidding and award process. Knight is already managing a variety of projects at RJM Construction, ranging from office to health care and senior housing. Knight has more than 25 years of experience in the construction industry. He is experienced in representing project owners and contractors in project meetings, supervising the preparation of value engineering and negotiating contract terms. Previously, he was vice president at Colcon Development. Knight attended the University of Colorado and is a LEED Accredited Professional and a Certified Professional Estimator.Lisa Bartlett, RA, NCIDQ, LEED AP, joined Davis Partnership Architects as a senior lighting designer. In this role, she will lead the lighting design for commercial office, multifamily, health care and higher education projects. Bartlett has 20 years of architecture, interior and lighting design and has worked on projects throughout the United States from California to Texas to Maine. Prior to joining Davis Partnership, Bartlett founded and led a design firm for eight years, then served as director for the Denver office of an East Coast-based boutique architectural lighting design firm.Don Gallup joined Foothills Commercial Builders as chief operating officer. As COO, Gallup will spearhead all operational aspects of FCBI, including preconstruction, business development, contract oversight, operations, project completion, scheduling, personnel performance, training and client satisfaction. Gallup has a diverse background with more than 25 years of construction experience. Projects he has overseen range in value from $375,000 to more than $450 million, including work at Invesco Field, Pepsi Center, Intel Corp. and Centennial Airport.Swinerton Builders added seven new employees to the organization. Swinerton’s new hires include Adam Lulay, who transferred from Swinerton’s San Francisco office to join the Colorado division as a project manager. While in Northern California, Lulay worked extensively on the Richmond campus of Chevron. He is a Certified Green Building Professional and LEED Accredited Professional BD+C. Aaron Brooks joined the firm as a senior project engineer and will work with project team members to coordinate operations and communications between consultants and owners. He has a Juris Doctor from the University Of Oklahoma College Of Law and he also holds a Bachelor of Science in construction from Bradley University in Illinois. C.J. Kavan also comes to Swinerton as a senior project engineer. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in construction management from Colorado State University. He currently is assigned to the Monroe Street Apartments project, which is under construction in the Cherry Creek area. Ryan Garris is working as a project engineer on the AMG National Trust Bank headquarters project in Greenwood Village. He is a graduate of Washington State University, where he was heavily involved in the construction management program and served as the vice president of the student club organization, served on the ASC (Reno) Competition Commercial team and won the 2012 DBIA National Student Competition. Jeff Ellis has been hired as an estimator and is responsible for working with owners, designers and Swinerton’s project management team to develop budgets, subcontractor solicitation and pricing for a variety of project types. He is a graduate of Colorado State University’s construction management program. Mike Kenyon serves as a safety manager for Swinerton’s Colorado division, where he provides training and certification to onsite project personnel and subcontractors. His responsibilities include coordinating, implementing and monitoring individual project safety programs. Kenyon holds a Master of Science in occupational safety and environmental health from Columbia Southern University in Mobile, Alabama, and a Bachelor of Science in occupational safety and environmental health from Millersville University in Pennsylvania. Stefan Huening joined Swinerton as a senior marketing coordinator, where he is engaged in proposal development, market research, communications, advertising and branding. He graduated from State University of New York at Stony Brook with a degree in political science and has numerous years of experience marketing professional construction services.Jordy Carter Furnishings hired Emily Marsh as interior design. Marsh will specify and produce technical drawings and bills of materials for client projects, as well as work directly with architects and design firms on projects. She also will be responsible for assisting in the selection of product, finishes and other design-related items. She has extensive experience in interior design, including space planning and development using technology software, producing 3D drawings for custom furniture and installation projects and creating color board and renderings for commercial and residential clients. Prior to joining Jordy Carter Furnishings, Marsh served as an interior designer for Office Service Company in Pennsylvania for two years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in interior design from The Art Institute of York-Pennsylvania.
