Haselden Construction has started demolition on the Roost Lodge in Vail, where, by spring 2016, a new Marriott Residence Inn will sit. The concrete and steel hotel located along North Frontage Road will feature 176 rooms in just under 134,000 square feet, with an additional 45,000 sf allocated to the parking garage (124 spaces). Studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites will feature full kitchens with separate living and sleeping areas. Amenities will include an outdoor pool, two outdoor spas, a fitness area, breakfast dining room and business center. Owned by Vail Hotel Owner ESHV LLC, the project was designed by Frisco firm O’Bryan Partnership with Randy May, former director of development for Vail Resorts, serving as the owner’s representative. OPI has a background in alpine designs and has been involved in numerous resort/hospitality/multifamily and on-mountain projects in and around the Vail Valley. The property will be operated by Portfolio Hotels and Resorts.
