GE Johnson Construction Co., Granite Properties, Confluent Development and Open Studio Architecture broke ground on an office complex designed to “raise the bar” for commercial developments in the area. In February, a groundbreaking was held for Granite Place at Village Center, a 10-story, Class AA office complex that will add more than 300,000 square feet of high-end office space to the Denver Tech Center. Granite Place, near Arapahoe Road and Interstate 25, is located within walking distance of the Arapahoe at Village Center light-rail station and is in close proximity to shopping, dining, recreation and a planned full-service hotel. “This project has the potential to be the most challenging, rewarding and successful projects we have done to date … (Granite Place) responds to real client needs. Clients want to be part of close-knit, vibrant communities with supportive municipalities,” said Marshall Burton, CEO of Confluent Development. “This project has been a true example of collaboration and ingenuity between all project stakeholders. No better proof can be shown than the maintenance of the construction budget for more than 16 months, in one of the busiest construction markets in the nation” stated Justin Cooper, vice president of GE Johnson Construction Co. The project also will include the construction of a six-level, 977-stall parking structure adjacent to the structure. Currently, the building is scheduled for completion in April 2017.
