Cindy Harvey, AIA, joined RNL as an associate principal and market lead for the architecture, design and planning firm’s commercial practice. She brings more than 20 years of experience to the role, including significant work in multifamily and mixed-use projects. Prior to joining the firm, Harvey spent much of her career with Kephart, where she was a principal and team lead for the Urban Multifamily Studio. Her work there included high-density, urban multifamily; mixed-use; transit-oriented development; historic rehabilitation; and resort properties. Her Colorado projects included Kent Place Residences, The Logan, Two-Nine North and Skye 2905. She also is the creator and director of CRASH, a creative think tank for the exploration of alternative delivery methods and advancing concepts related and connected to the future of living. Harvey is a graduate of the University of Colorado, where she earned both her bachelor’s degree in environmental design and her master’s degree in architecture. Mike Harms joined PCL Construction’s Denver operations as vice president and district manager. Harms will oversee the organization’s building presence in the Colorado region. He is a 30-year construction veteran who has spent the majority of his career in the Colorado commercial construction market. He joins the company from the owner representative firm Icon Venue Group, where he served as senior vice president and project executive. Harms worked on projects that include the new Minnesota Vikings Stadium, rehabilitation of Wrigley Field and the new football stadium at Colorado State University. His background includes work in the health care, hospitality, sports and entertainment, higher education, aviation and mountain resorts markets. Harms graduated from the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor of Science in construction management and worked for Mortenson and GE Johnson before joining Icon Venue Group in 2013. Mortenson Construction added Dave Espinosa and Jen Riedl to the Denver operating group. Espinosa joined as senior project manager. He has more than 15 years of experience delivering complex commercial building and infrastructure projects. He joined the team delivering the Halcyon Hotel currently under construction in Cherry Creek. Riedl joined as senior business development manager. She has nearly 10 years of experience in commercial design and construction, and her primary focus at the firm will be the continued development of the corporate, office and hospitality markets, in addition to other responsibilities. William Stow, LEED AP, joined CSHQA as an architect in its Colorado regional office. Stow brings 14 years of professional experience to the firm and will be involved with a variety of commercial and retail projects. He has worked on a variety of retail, restaurant, office, education and multifamily residential projects throughout Colorado and California. Stow is actively involved in master planning, feasibility, programming, design development, permitting, construction documents, specifications and construction administration. Previous clients include the Department of Veterans Affairs, University of Colorado, Foothill Baptist Church, Pacific Dental, The Covenant Group, Farmer Boys, Red Rocks Country Club, Kiewit Western, Marathon Petroleum Corp., AMLI, Corum Real Estate Group and Wood Partners. He completed his bachelor’s degree in environmental design from the University of Colorado Boulder and his Master of Architecture from the University of Colorado Denver. The firm also announced Timothy R. Higley, PMP, HCIR/C, Ted Isbell, AIA, HCI-R/C, and James G. Murray, AIA, HCI-C, all recently the passed the Haag Certified Inspector – Commercial Roof program. Higley and Isbell also are Haag Certified Inspector – Residential certified. Higley is an experienced construction professional with extensive management of both commercial and residential construction projects. Isbell, project architect, has performed more than 250 individual property insurance claim investigations of residential and commercial properties where the primary focus was assessing roof damage, but also included water infiltration, structural assessments and reconstructive recommendations. Murray, principal, is regional manager for CSHQA’s Denver office, focusing on education and retail projects. He has collaborated with numerous school districts throughout Colorado on various BEST grant-funded projects, including more than 1 million square feet of roofing inspected, designed and/or replaced over an eight-year period in Colorado and New Mexico. Gabrielle Lerner Keown was named senior director of real estate development at Vail Resorts Inc. In this role, she will oversee relationships with third-party developers on multiple real estate parcels held by the company with a focus on creating value at the base areas of the company’s ski resorts. For the last two years, Keown has served as vice president of hotel investments for Miller Global Properties LLC in Denver, where she was responsible for sourcing, evaluating and executing hospitality acquisitions and developments for the company. Prior to Miller Global, Keown was senior director of investment services and feasibility from 2010 to 2014 at Denver-based Richfield Hospitality, where she led the company’s underwriting efforts throughout the country, including several development and management transactions completed during her tenure. Before moving to Colorado, Keown worked as an associate for PKF Consulting in Los Angeles, executing market feasibility studies, repositioning and operational analyses, valuations and plans for hotelrelated ventures. Keown received a Bachelor of Science degree from the Cornell University. Vaughn Goodbrand joined Himmelman Construction Inc. as the company’s new preconstruction manager. Goodbrand will have strategic oversight for all preconstruction initiatives, including cost consulting, project planning, preconstruction and construction management, technology implementation and BIM, as well as all facets of project delivery from site selection to design through construction and operations. Goodbrand comes to the firm with over 30 years of international construction experience. He holds a bachelor’s degree in building science/construction management from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. He has experience as an owner, construction manager/ general contractor and consultant as well as expertise in all areas of institutional, industrial, hospitality, health care, civil and government projects. Henry Herrera joined JVA Inc. He joined the structural department as a project engineer and will be working in the Boulder office. Herrera graduated from George Washington University with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering with an emphasis on structures. He has six years of structural design experience related to residential, institutional and commercial projects. Herrera also has extensive knowledge in the BIM process for structural applications and integrations. Broe Real Estate Group, an affiliate of The Broe Group, added two members to its leadership team. Walter Armer joined as vice president, development and portfolio management, with responsibilities for the Broe Real Estate Group multifamily portfolio, including the building and marketing of Country Club Towers II. Andy Poremba joined as vice president, construction, and will support Armer in the development of Country Club Towers II. Armer has 25 years of multifamily asset management and development experience and joins the company from Core Cos., a private multifamily development firm in San Jose, California. He holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Phoenix and a Master of Business Administration from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College. Poremba has 25 years of construction and development experience and joined the firm from ServiceStar Development Co., where he spent 14 years, most recently as director of construction. He is a graduate of Colorado State University with a bachelor’s degree in industrial construction management. Jake Hoesch joined Taylor Kohrs’ internship program. As part of the program, Hoesch is learning the “ins and outs” of estimating and project management, and will be exposed to all facets of construction. Currently he is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in construction management from Colorado State University. Kimberly Timmons Interiors added Shelley Thomson, NCIDQ, to its team. She is a project manager with experience in high-end hospitality completed on an international scale. She got her start as an in-house designer with Fairfield Resorts and then matriculated through several design studios. She also spent three years working with Wilson Associates in Dallas, where she worked on five-star resorts including The Venetian in Macau, China; Dubai’s Atlantis the Palm; and the Peabody Hotel in Orlando, Florida. Lane Cutter joined Legacy Partners, a national real estate firm, as vice president of development. He will be based out of the firm’s Denver office. Cutter, a formally trained architect, will oversee the development of several projects in Colorado and the southwest region. Cutter comes to the firm after 20 years of experience as owner and principal of RLC Design, where he oversaw the design of more than 1,800 condominiums and apartment units for developments all over Colorado. Additionally, he has spent the last 12 years as owner and manager of MonthFive Development, where he managed the redevelopment of more than $6.25 million in a single-family home portfolio since 2006, as well as two ground-up multifamily projects in Golden and Greeley. Rowland+Broughton Architecture/Urban Design/Interior Design added three new team members to its Aspen studio. Kurt Peterson and Derek Keil joined as project architect and Jan Pfeifer joined as accountant. Peterson has construction administration and technical experience as both a designer and a builder on projects in the Roaring Fork Valley, Denver and Macau, China. Most recently, he was a job captain at Land + Shelter in Carbondale. He has also worked as a carpenter at Tom Rubin Construction in Carbondale and a framer at Grand Avenue Builders in Glenwood Springs. Project types range from passive solar homes to equestrian ranches to the remodel of a golf clubhouse and driving range. Peterson received a Bachelor of Environmental Design from the School of Architecture and Planning, University of Colorado Boulder. Keil has project design and management experience, as well as architectural computer software skills. Prior to joining the firm, he worked as an architect at Revuelta Architecture International in Miami and, before that, as chief operating officer/project manager at Luckey LLC and intern architect at Svigals + Partners, both in New Haven, Connecticut. Keil has a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Yale University, where he has been a Fellow of Morse College since 2011, and is a graduate and AIA Medal Winner of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Pfeifer has many years of experience working with Aspen businesses, most recently as controller at the Aspen Square Condominium Association. Before that, she provided financial services to The Inn at Aspen and Aspen Skiing Co., as well as her own company. She has a master’s in mathematics from Brigham Young University and a Bachelor of Science in mathematics education from Eastern Montana College.
