Living the Eucharist
BILOXI -- Nativity BVM Cathe-
dral in Biloxi will participate in a small
groups project called
Living the Eucha-
rist
. This exciting parish-based spiritual
renewal experience is open to all Nativ-
ity parishioners.
Living the Eucharist
is a Ministry of Paulist Evangelization
Ministries. The small groups will fos-
ter spiritual growth and discipleship by
promoting full, conscious and active
participation in the Eucharist. The goal
is to assist participants to have a better
understanding of the Sacrament of the
Eucharist. Interested parties may sign up
for this free program on Mar. 1/2 at the
Cathedral. The groups will begin meet-
ing the week of Ash Wednesday and will
meet once a week for the six weeks of

Irish-Italian Festival and
Parade March 15
HATTIESBURG -- St. Thomas Aqui-
nas Church will host its annual Irish-Ital-
ian Festival and Parade Sat., March 15.
In addition to the parade, the festival will
include a variety of food and refresh-
ments, bicycle ride/race, 5K run/walk,
silent auction and art show, a grand prize
raffle and a variety of other activities for
the whole family. Admission is free.
The festival and parade “royalty” --
king and colleen and grand marshal --
will be announced at a press conference
at the church March 6 at 10 am.
Entries are still being accepted for the
parade, and area organizations and busi-
nesses are invited to participate. There
is no entry fee for the parade. For infor-

Men’s Cursillo
DEDEAUX -- The Cursillo Move-
ment of South Mississippi will sponsor
the next Men’s retreat weekend March
27-30 at the Dedeaux Hilton, which is
located on the grounds of Sacred Heart
Parish. The Cursillo weekend is de-
signed for Catholics who are looking to
enrich their faith and prayer life, as well
as to learn how to live a life of fullness in
grace. The spiritual directors for the up-
coming weekend will be Father Michael
Marascalco, Parochial Vicar at Nativity
BVM, as well as Deacon M.J. Landry
from Blessed Francis Seelos/Our Mother
of Sorrows parishes.

Health Triduum
CLERMONT HARBOR -- The Holy
Infant of Good Health Triduum will be
held March 12-14 at St. Ann Church,
Lower Bay Road. On March 12, there
will be Adoration of the Blessed Sacra-
ment at 5:30 pm, recitation of the Rosary
at 6 pm and Mass 6:30 pm. On March 13
and 14, there will be Mass at 8:30 am.

Seder Supper
GULFPORT -- St. John the Evange-
list Church in Gulfport cordially invites
you to help us celebrate Seder Supper
on Tuesday, March 25, at 6:00 p.m. in
Presentation Hall. Every year we tell the
story of our faith which culminated in
the institution of the Eucharist at the Last
Supper, and we explain Biblical truths
about Jesus, and what happened on the
last day of his life. All that is required to
attend is a covered dish to help us com-

Father Higginbotham’s
Mother Dies
D’IBERVILLE -- Alta Mae Higgin-
botham, mother of Father Robert Hig-
ginbotham, pastor of Sacred Heart Par-
ish, died on February 14. She was 86.
In addition to Father Higginbotham,
Mrs. Higginbotham is survived by her
husband of 69 years, Dennis Paul Hig-
ginbotham; a son Al (Diane) Higginbo-
tham; daughter, Nancy Hayden; sister-
in-law, Betty Menard; four grandchildren
and five great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was cele-
brated on Feb. 20 at Sacred Heart Church
with Father Higginbotham and Father
Tony Arguelles officiating.
D’Iberville:
A tradition since 1908, the
Lepoma/Landry Family St. Joseph
Altar will be open for viewing on
March 19 from 8 am to 6 pm at the
home of Lee and Jackie Landry, 11318
Magnolia Street. The traditional walk
of St. Joseph, Mary, Jesus, and the
angels will take place at noon followed
by the sharing of the food. Special
petitions are accepted and placed on the
altar at Sacred Heart Church for a
