Jobs, jobs and more jobs are
coming to Fort Collins, with
Comcast planning to open a new
customer support center on the
HP campus.
Comcast leased 80,000 square
feet of space on the first and
second floors of HP’s building at
3420 E. Harmony Road, where
Madwire recently leased 66,443
sf. Comcast will hire 600 new
employees to provide technical
product and service support to
the company’s residential cus-
tomers. Anumber of new leader-
ship and support positions also
will be involved in running day-
to-day operations.
The state-of-the-art facility will
open within a year, following
significant upgrades to the build-
ing.
“We’re happy to have them in
Fort Collins. We think this will
be a great addition to our high-
tech and employer base,” said
Peter Kast of CBRE Inc., who
represented the landlord in the
transaction. David Welker, Mike
Deatly and Todd Roebken of JLL
represented Comcast.
Comcast will occupy the sec-
ond floor of the building, plus
about a quarter of the first floor.
That leaves only about 30,000 sf
available in the 187,000-sf build-
ing.
“The new Fort Collins cus-
tomer support center is integral
to Comcast’s multiyear strategy
to reinvent the customer expe-
rience and create a culture of
exceeding customers’ expecta-
tions,” Rich Jennings, senior vice
president of Comcast’s Moun-
tain West region, said in a state-
ment. “We’re excited to hire 600
employees and give them the
training and tools they need to
be successful in ensuring every
customer’s experience is excel-
lent.”
“Comcast’s decision to move
this customer service and tech-
nical support center here rein-
forces the supportive business
environment in Fort Collins. The
addition of these jobs in our com-
munity will ensure that we con-
tinue to provide a diversity of
employment opportunities in the
region,” said Fort Collins Mayor
Wade Troxell.
The location on East Harmo-
ny will allow Comcast to draw
employees not only from Fort
Collins, but also from surround-
ing Northern Colorado commu-
nities.
“Colorado is thrilled to see
continued growth of Comcast in
our community,” said Gov. John
Hickenlooper. “With over 8,000
employees in the state, Comcast
is a significant employer and
partner to Colorado’s success.
The company’s expansion in
Fort Collins is a testament to the
state’s talented workforce and
collaborative spirit.”
Since 1996, Comcast has invest-
ed more than $7 billion in its
technology infrastructure in Col-
orado, including more than $300
million in network investments
in the last five years. Its services
include providing low-cost inter-
net service to 100,000 Coloradans
through the Internet Essentials
program. The company contrib-
uted more than $17 million in
cash and in-kind donations to
Colorado nonprofits last year.

Aretail strip center at Mulberry
& Lemay Crossing in Fort Collins
sold for $6.52 million, according
to public records.
U.S. Property Trust bought the
18,988-square-foot center at 1251-
1281 E. Magnolia St. from Ft.
Collins Partners I LLC, which is
affiliated with a publicly traded
real estate investment trust. It
also bought two associated land
parcels used as landscaping and
drainage for $133,000.
The center is located at the cor-
ner of corner of East Lemay Ave-
nue and South Mulberry Street.
It is part of the 328,495-sf Mul-
berry & Lemay Crossing center,
anchored by Walmart and Home
Depot.
Tenants in the strip center
include Chase Bank, Qdoba,
Dairy Queen, The UPS Store,
Papa John’s Pizza, State Farm,
Radio Shack and others.
“Mulberry & Lemay Crossing
has an excellent tenant mix and
is located at the hard corner of
two heavily traveled thorough-
fares. The ongoing development
of Woodward Inc.’s global head-
quarters on the northwest cor-
ner of this intersection will only
improve the strength of this loca-
tion,” said Garrette Matlock, an
investment specialist in Marcus
& Millichap’s Denver office and
senior director
of the compa-
ny’s National
Retail Group.
According
to Marcus &
M i l l i c h a p ,
54,326 cars
per day pass
through the
intersection.

handled the transaction with
Ryan Bowlby, senior associate
and associate director, also in the
Denver office.
“We generated a lot of interest
and multiple offers within the
first few weeks of taking Mul-
berry & Lemay to market,” said
Bowlby. “The supply of quality
retail product in Fort Collins is
fairly constrained and there are a
lot of investors, particularly from
