grant-funded projects, includ-
ing more than 1 million square
feet of roofing inspected,
designed and/or replaced over
an eight-year period in Colo-
rado and New Mexico.

Gabrielle Lerner Keown
was
named senior
director of
real estate
develop-
ment at
Vail
Resorts Inc.
In this role,
she will over-
see relation-
ships with
third-party
developers
on multiple
real estate parcels held by the
company with a focus on creat-
ing value at the base areas of
the company’s ski resorts.
For the last two years, Keown
has served as vice president
of hotel investments for Miller
Global Properties LLC in Den-
ver, where she was responsible
for sourcing, evaluating and
executing hospitality acquisi-
tions and developments for
the company. Prior to Miller
Global, Keown was senior
director of investment services
and feasibility from 2010 to
2014 at Denver-based Richfield
Hospitality, where she led
the company’s underwriting
efforts throughout the country,
including several development
and management transactions
completed during her tenure.
Before moving to Colorado,
Keown worked as an associ-
ate for PKF Consulting in Los
Angeles, executing market
feasibility studies, reposition-
ing and operational analyses,
valuations and plans for hotel-
related ventures.
Keown received a Bachelor of
Science degree from the Cornell
University.

Vaughn Goodbrand
joined
Himmelman Construction Inc.
as the company’s new precon-
struction manager.
Goodbrand will have stra-
tegic oversight for all precon-
struction
initiatives,
including
cost consult-
ing, project
planning,
preconstruc-
tion and
construction
management,
technology
implementa-
tion and BIM, as well as all
facets of project delivery from
site selection to design through
construction and operations.
Goodbrand comes to the firm
with over 30 years of interna-
tional construction experience.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in
building science/construction
management from the Uni-
versity of the Witwatersrand,
Johannesburg, South Africa.
He has experience as an
owner, construction manager/
general contractor and consul-
tant as well as expertise in all
areas of institutional, industrial,
hospitality, health care, civil
and government projects.

He joined the structural
department as a project engi-
neer and will be working in

Herrera
graduated

Washington
University
with a Bach-
elor of Sci-

in civil engi-
neering with

He has six years of structural
design experience related to
residential, institutional and
commercial projects. Her-
rera also has extensive knowl-
edge in the BIM process for
structural applications and
integrations.

nia. He holds

from ServiceStar Development
Co., where he spent 14 years,
most recently as director of
construction. He is a gradu-
ate of Colorado State Univer-
sity with a bachelor’s degree
in industrial construction
management.

the Peabody Hotel in Orlando,
Florida.

Partners,
a national real estate
firm, as vice
president of
development.
He will be
based out
of the firm’s
Denver
office. Cutter,
a formally
trained archi-
tect, will
oversee the
development of several projects
in Colorado and the southwest
region.
Cutter comes to the firm after
20 years of experience as owner
and principal of RLC Design,
where he oversaw the design
of more than 1,800 condomini-
ums and apartment units for
developments all over Colora-
do. Additionally, he has spent
the last 12 years as owner and
manager of MonthFive Devel-
opment, where he managed the
redevelopment of more than
$6.25 million in a single-family-
home portfolio since 2006, as
well as two ground-up multi-
family projects in Golden and
Greeley.

Kurt Peterson

Jan Pfeifer

Peterson has construction
administration and technical
experience as both a designer
and a builder on projects in
the Roaring Fork Valley, Den-
ver and Macau, China. Most
recently, he was a job captain
at Land + Shelter in Carbon-
dale. He has also worked as
a carpenter at Tom Rubin
Construction in Carbondale
and a framer at Grand Avenue
Builders in Glenwood Springs.
Project types range from pas-
sive solar homes to equestrian
ranches to the remodel of a golf
clubhouse and driving range.
Peterson received a Bachelor
of Environmental Design from
the School of Architecture and
Planning, University of Colo-
rado Boulder.
Keil has project design and
management experience, as
well as architectural com-
puter software skills. Prior to
joining the firm, he worked
as an architect at Revuelta
Architecture International in
Miami and, before that, as chief
operating officer/project man-
ager at Luckey LLC and intern
architect at Svigals + Partners,
both in New Haven, Con-
necticut. Keil has a bachelor’s
degree in chemistry from Yale
University, where he has been
a Fellow of Morse College since
2011, and is a graduate and
AIAMedal Winner of Rensse-
laer Polytechnic Institute.
Pfeifer has many years of
experience working with
Aspen businesses, most recent-
ly as controller at the Aspen
Square Condominium Associa-
tion.
Before that, she provided
financial services to The Inn at
Aspen and Aspen Skiing Co.,
as well as her own company.
She has a master’s in math-
ematics from Brigham Young
University and a Bachelor of
Science in mathematics educa-
tion from Eastern Montana
College.

Metropolitan State Uni-
versity of Denver’s Rita and
Navin Dimond Hotel Man-
agement Program announced
the recipients of the 2016 Rita
and Navin Dimond Hotel
Management Fellowship for
the spring semester.
The Dimond Fellowship
Program, endowed through
a gift from the Dimond fam-
ily, was established to foster
excellence and passion for
providing distinguished hos-
pitality in future industry
leaders. Dimond fellows are
provided unique professional
development opportunities
including a paid internship
with the executive teams at
Stonebridge Cos. hotels for
one semester as part of their
senior experience.
Members of the spring
semester class welcomed at
a ceremony Feb. 4 include:
LeAnn Tousley Gunnell, a
mother to six children who
is pursuing her bachelor’s
degree in hospitality, tourism
and events with a concentra-
tion in event management;
Elizabeth Settambrino, a first-
generation college student
who anticipates graduating in
May with a bachelor’s degree
in hospitality, tourism and
events with a concentration in
event management; Amanda
Dinan, who plans to gradu-
ate from MSU Denver’s hos-
pitality, tourism and events
program in December 2016;
and Bridget “Birdie” Meyers,
a transfer student from Colo-
rado State University, who
is pursuing a concentration
in events management with
the goal of having a career in
sales, marketing or manage-
ment.
