Babu Raman K, has a penchant for trying out all
things that are good. Has lived in the valley for
the last sixteen years but has traveled extensively
to experiment food of different regions both na-
tional and international. He is known as a con-
noisseur of the taste buds... and strongly advo-
cates that the path to ones heart is through a tasty
bite.
It feels good when somebody greets you with a smile the moment you enter their
business. That’s exactly what happened when me and my friends decided to dine
at Chennai Fusion Grill in Chandler. Within minutes we were comfortably settled
and water was served promptly (along with the menus).
Within minutes a lady appeared by our table with a small pocket book in her
hands to take our orders.
We were a mixed group of vegetarians and meat eaters. So we went ahead and
ordered a bunch of food of both varieties.
While we were waiting I tried to check my surroundings. Was happy to see a very
spacious arrangement of seating along with a simple but nice décor. Though it
was a weekday evening, was surprised to find quite a good number of families
dining out. Saw some familiar faces too. Was also surprisingly happy to see quite
a good number of non Indians enjoying our delicacies.
Food came in and was served hot. The Mysore Masala Dosa and Gobhi Manchu-
rian ordered by my vegetarian friend looked very appealing. Fortunately, I can try
his, but he cannot dip into mine. The Gobhi was crisp and well-cooked and the
sauce tasted good. The spring onions gave it a very colorful look.
The Dosa was perfectly spicy for my palette and the filling was tasty. Along with
the hot Sambar the satisfied look on my friend’s face made a happy statement.
My order of Chicken Tikka masala was served hot and looked inviting. The gar-
nish of Cilantro on the dish gave it a very nice look. The dish turned out perfect
with a nice flavor. Tender pieces of chicken, well cooked in the simmer sauce and
was very aromatic. The flavors were pushing me to over eat. The bread was quite
warm and soft, sprinkled with green herbs and brushed with garlic butter. I was
in culinary heaven at that moment of time. The Sag Paneer was a little under
salted but I am a heavy salt eater, but very creamy and delicious.
Summarily I would definitely refer my friends to visit this place. The flavors did
take me back to my zmemories of my homeland.
