leak in Building 26 in the main hallway, a pipe leak in Building 17 and
a main sewer back up in Building 52. The gutters in all of the 4-story
buildings were cleaned. And, the Paint Department completed repair
work in 10 buildings and painted interior hallways in five buildings.
Community Response
The Community Response team logged 1413 calls with 1157 of them
being assists to residents. Sadly, we had to say goodbye to night shift
officers Kyle Bayens and Collin Stookey who have moved on to new
opportunities. Three new officers have been hired, Eric Humphrey,
Ryan Clifton and Erin Brazzil. Chief Santistevan is now a certified
NRA pistol instructor as well as a CPR certified instructor and will
be doing department training in this area rather than paying outside
resources for this training.
Press On!
If you have made it to the end of this writing, thank you. It is a lot of
information to take in and the budget is not always the most pleasant
of topics. In the same way, I hope you will stick with us as we plan
to take this community into the next decade, preserving all the while.
“Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not;
nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius
will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not;
the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination
alone are omnipotent. The slogan Press On! has solved and always
will solve the problems of the human race.” ~ Calvin Coolidge

Geese
In response to the article in the February issue titled “Geese: Why
We Want Them Off The Greens,” I would quote from a letter from a
Windsor resident published in Windsor Life in February 2011:
“I think it’s wonderful that Windsor Gardens has coyotes. It means that
at least some of the wildlife that humans have worked to exterminate
has instead learned to adapt to our presence. Now we need to adapt

to
their
presence....After all, the coyotes aren’t really invading our
territory. We’ve all invaded theirs.”
I find this applicable to our geese, as well. If only humans could
provide such dignity and regal beauty in exchange for all the damage
that
we
do.
Thanks for your attention.
