Cell Phone Mishap
Sally has hit her ball onto the green and is standing
next to it. In the process of digging a ball marker
out of her pocket, she drops her cell phone and it
hits her ball, sending it across the green. What is
the ruling?
A. No penalty, play it from where it stopped after
the putter hit it.
B. One stroke penalty and must place the ball back to its original
spot.
C. Two stroke penalty and must play from where the ball came to
rest.
D. Quick put it back before anyone in the group sees.
Answers to past months:
The answer to January’s question is B, re-tee from the black tees
with a one-stroke penalty.
The answer to February’s question is B. 2-stroke penalty and place
ball in exact spot.
