ART CLUB:
The October 21 meeting
will feature local artist Ginny Abblett as guest
artist. The meeting opens at 10 a.m. in the
COLORADO ROOM, and after a short meeting
Ginny will demonstrate using acrylics and canvas
to create an amazing table runner. Guests are
always welcome.

CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL
COLORADO ASSOCIATION OF
VOLUNTEERS, WG CHAPTER,
would
like to thank everyone who donated items as
well as came and supported our annual fall sale.
It was another successful fundraiser for all the
patients and families at CHC. Also, thank you to
all those who stopped by the CHC volunteer's
table at the WG Club Expo. Our regular monthly
meeting will be held Monday, October 17, at 9:30
a.m. in the COLORADO ROOM. We welcome
visitors to come join us and hear speakers from
CHC and see the items our members make that
we donate to the hospital for the patients. We
accept material and yarn donations throughout
their participation. No doubt this is due to their
own hectic and changing commitments. Get the
rest of the story from our flyers. Do join us for
these presentations. A number of us meet before
the meeting for conversation and nourishment
at 5:30 p.m. at Blossoms Restaurant. Please

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN’S
CLUB:

to join us at 9:30 a.m. for refreshments and
fellowship followed by a one-hour presentation
by Dennis Gallagher in CENTERPOINT. Dennis
will entertain us with some obscure stories about
Denver’s past, including the ethnic influences
on Denver’s history and neighborhoods. Dennis
the year, so if you are doing some autumn
purging, please give Bernadine Dzierson a call

COMPUTER CLUB
 will meet on
Wednesday, October 12, in the COLORADO
ROOM at 7 p.m.  Join us for another interesting
discussion.  All levels of expertise are invited.
DEMOCRATIC BOOK CLUB
will
meet on Saturday, October 29, at 2 p.m. in the
home of Dot and Ellis Sobol, 615 South Alton
Way, #8B (303-363-9515). We will be discussing
“Who Stole the American Dream”
by Pulitzer
Prize-winner Hedrick Smith. This new work is
"an extraordinary achievement, an eye-opening
account of how, over the last four decades, the
'American Dream' has been disconnected and
we became two Americas,” says the Denver
Public Library summary.
DEMOCRATIC CLUB
will meet
on Tuesday, October 25, at 7 p.m. in
CENTERPOINT. This year's campaign season
has created much uncertainty on the national,
state and local levels. We have invited several
interesting speakers, and as we write this in
September we have not received confirmation of
