From Doug Mallon, Golf Pro
Thanks for a great season
It was another great season at Emerald Greens Golf Club. We
want to thank everyone who came out and played this season. The
course was in great shape. Thank you to all our sponsors who hosted
tournaments – we look forward to doing it again next season.
Halloween Golf Tournament
The Golf Shop will try to host a Halloween Golf Tournament of some
kind, open to all players and their friends. Dressing in costume will
help take strokes off the final score. Check with the Golf Shop for
more details.
Phoebe, Zoey and Lilly are out playing Hole
#8 here at Emerald Greens Golf Club. Lilly
and Zoey hit their shot next to the pin, 3 feet
away. Phoebe tee’s up and it goes long,
and her ball comes to rest in the middle of
the bridge. What does Phoebe do?
A. Play it as it lies
B. Take free relief and play on
C. Take a one stroke penalty and find
nearest point of relief, play on
D. Ball is out of normal play, redo shot no
penalty.
Answer to last month’s question: C.

Dukes’ 2016 Golf Season
After a very successful golf season the men’s golf league, the Dukes,
would like to thank several people who helped make it our best year
yet.
Our thanks to Doug Mallon, our head golf pro, for all of the things he
does for us which go unnoticed. He makes the wheels turn.
Thanks to Dana Cusack and his crew for making Emerald Greens Golf
Course a tremendous environment for all of us at Windsor Gardens.
It was in the best shape ever this year. Great job!
Special thanks to Tom Fetting for tackling our computer program and
changing the way the club handles virtually all of our information,
from the weekly scoring to the handicaps, score cords, parings and
all of the details in running a club. Also to Keith Dalley for the many
hours spent inputting information into the computer.
A special thank you to Frank Bridges for all that he does for us, from
keeping an eagle eye on our money to getting the donuts at 6 a.m.,
and Barrie McDonald has got that coffee thing down just right.
John Lohmeyer, our tournament chairperson, worked very hard this
year to make sure each week was fun and interesting. He also worked
with Heather Gardens to make the annual garden cup a success.
Lastly, thanks to all the members for showing up with great attitudes
and making our club the place we wanted it to be. See you all next
year for a bigger and better 2017.
