Seed Starting with Soil
Blocks
Whether you are an experienced gardener or
novice, the seed catalogue is sure to warm
up your winter. But how many times did the
plant in your garden not match the picture
on the packet? Although there is never a
guarantee, the best way to succeed is to
give your seeds a great start. Soil blocks
will help you do that. Soil blocks are small
cubes of planting soil made with a specific
planting mix designed to hold soil together
without a container. In this class explore the
advantages, as well as disadvantages, and
what soil mix works the best. Consider the
options of store-bought soil-block makers
and home-made ones. Make and plant
some soil blocks to take home with you.
